Build a Knife Vice day - 23 July 2017
The club had a huge turnout to build a knife vice from steel pipe. Due to the numbers, we ran a couple of assembly lines, the guys getting experience with welding, tapping, and drilling. All went home with a knife vice to personalise with a paintjob and turning handles. We are looking forward to seeing the finished products!

QMAC was recently commissioned to build a Ned Kelly suit of armour. This was pretty exciting, as we ventured into unknown territory with the build. We worked over two weekends and were very happy with the result. We hope the new owner is happy with our efforts!
On 10 June 2017, QMAC hosted a Pirate Ship Brazier building day. QMAC members had heaps of fun building these ships from old gas bottles and steel. Members had a chance to improve their welding, grinding and plasma cutting skills. Aaaarrrrghhhh!
One of our members is a dead-keen Star Wars fan, and made this R2D2 brazier. We can feel a Start Wars day coming up soon!
On 21 May 2017 we held an Introduction to Blacksmithing workshop for members who had never forged before. We had a great time, loads of laughs, but made sure all safety protocols were in place. The guys learned heaps, and a few pairs or reasonable tongs were made. Well done guys! Be sure to check out the video on Drew's Blog!
We had an Open Day on 1 May 2017 for friends and family of QMAC and Geddes Blacksmithing. A number of demonstrations were held, which gave visitors an idea of what QMAC gets up to over weekends! A great sausage sizzle all day ensured everyone was fed and happy. It was a fantastic day!
A Sheath making demo was held on 9 April 2017. Josh and Brad brought along heaps of show & tell stuff for us to have a look at and put on a fantastic presentation. Much was de-mystified, and heaps learned. Thanks and well done Josh and Brad!
